While by no means the deep dive that one might want for a new class spec, Blade and Soul has at least offered a more direct look at the new Assassin specialization that will be arriving with the MMO’s next update.
The Way of the Phantom spec is similar to other third specs in that it’s a stance change that grants access to some new abilities. The primary mechanic of this spec is the build up and spending of up to five Phantom Marks, which can be used on some potent new skills like Phantom Shuriken and Night Reaver. Using abilities that spend Phantom Marks will concurrently build stacks of a resource called Twilight, which opens up other skills like Twilight Slash and Twilight Strike. Burning Twilight stacks is important, as it reduces the cooldown of entering the new stance, meaning proper practice and skill use will lower the time the Assassin is out of the Phantom stance.
