PlanetSide 2’s Escalation update is pushed back to February 26

It would seem that reaction to the recent PTS build of PlanetSide 2’s Escalation update is forcing Rogue Planet Games to work a bit longer and stick the landing. Rogue Planet head Andy Sites has confirmed that Escalation will have to wait a little longer to come out, pushing back to this coming Wednesday, February 26th.

Player feedback is the primary reason for this delay according to the announcement, and the decision to hold back Escalation’s launch is owed to that and a desire from the devs to meet some lofty expectations. “I can tell you that the Rogue Planet team shares the same level of excitement and wants to not only meet your expectations, but use the Escalation update to raise the bar going forward,” writes Sites in the post. “We wouldn’t expect anyone to give us a pass for publishing an update early, if the quality and level polish is not there.”

So, this next week will be focused on iterating on feedback as well as fixing bugs and refining and polishing the Escalation update. So, yes, things will be escalating, just not quite as soon as one would hope.
