Lord of the Rings Online aims to fix session play, opens Ill Omens skirmish event

There was an interesting thread on the official Lord of the Rings Online forums earlier this week asking Standing Stone to make the combat in session play easier – or even take it out entirely – since the point of playing that content is the story, not the killing, and there are no tangible rewards anyway. It was such a reasonable request that SSG says it might just do it. The studio’s MadeOfLions says that session play NPCs come from a pool of mobs that get left behind as the rest of the game is balanced.

“I think this Friday I might see what I can do about making these sessionplays less of a pain,” MadeOfLions says. “I’m leaning towards knocking down the monster morale in every case, and we’ll see if that helps.”

What? Good comms from SSG? We’re here for it.

In other LOTRO news, yesterday the team pushed out the 25.3.4 patch, specifically to open the Ill Omens skirmish event, fix the Hytbold class armor set, and give new relics to the White Company quartermaster in Estolad Lân, among a few other tweaks.
