Blue Protocol confirms NPC costumes for player characters in a preview

It is the season for costumes, and since the pandemic is likely going to put the kibosh on a lot of costume-centered gatherings, it’s just as well that player characters in MMOs can let folks feed their dress-up good time needs. That’s the segue I’m going with to point to Blue Protocol’s latest preview tweet, which confirms (according to some very bad auto-translation) that player characters will be able to dress up like NPC shopkeeps from a variety of facilities. The preview offers a look at one such costume, but confirms that other such NPC-based outfits are in the works.

The preview in question will likely be one of many as Blue Protocol spools up its next closed beta test in Japan, which will kick off on November 7th. The game’s last beta test kicked off in April, albeit with some delays due to demand and some worrying system scanning features. As for its prospects here in the West, publisher/developer Bandai Namco has effectively confirmed it’s impending arrival, though testing and initial release will focus on Japan first in order to not “represent [the game] half-assed to the rest of the world.”
