Ultima Online has a string of narrative events rolling out all spring

Ultima Online’s latest newsletter is live, with a look at what’s coming in the new future and some teases for New Legacy. For example, Publish 110 is in development and expected to hit the live shards in March. Don’t expect gobs of new content, though, as this update sets the stage for future rollouts, with “veteran rewards, new holiday collectible items, additional rewards for the Black Market, bug fixes, and support for our upcoming global events.” Those global events are worth keeping an eye on, as it looks as if there will be a new one every month through June.

There’s little in this newsletter about New Legacy, which is the new-player shard and ruleset the Broadsword announced last fall, apart from the studio’s plans to talk more about the world and feel at the developer hangouts later this month. The first is slated for February 8th.

Incidentally, Broadsword says it’s still hiring event moderators (storytelling gamemasters), it’s working on fixes for the vendor searching on the biggest shards, and it poured cold water on the player push to get the skill cap raised to 820 (not happening fam).
