The Lands Awakened update coming to Albion Online on November 24th will be adding a number of new things, but the devs of Sandbox Interactive are taking a moment to focus on the changes coming to guild season content, both in dev blog form and video form starring director Robin Henkys and MMO Gaming’s Most Comfortable Chair.
The guild season’s rewards system will be replaced with the Conqueror’s Challenge, which tasks players with earning Might that can be used to get seasonal rewards like avatars, mounts, and fame boosts. Earning Might is done by taking part in PvP activities, while another currency called Favor can also be earned in the same way. This currency can be used to purchase siphoned energy and additional reward chests.
The new guild season will also see guild members earning Guild Might levels as they earn Might and Favor themselves. Earning these levels reward season points and grants everyone in the guild additional personal Might and bonuses to Might earned for the season.
The scoring system isn’t the only change being made to guild seasons. There are some new open world features on deck, like randomly spawning energy vortices that drop territory energy crystals, which players can scoop up and bring to a tower on owned territory. Doing so will boost that tower’s level, guard strength, and the rate at which siphoned energy and season points are generated, along with a boost to enchanted resource spawn rates and gathering yield in the tower’s zone.
On the subject of territory, held zones generate far fewer Season Points if they are low on energy, but have a much higher maximum potential if they stay at maximum level in order to encourage more Outlands conflict.
More talks about other features of the Lands Awakened update will be coming soon, but for now there’s a dev blog and a dev video to scour.
