We’re very sorry, everyone, but this week we have declined to have an entry in What Are You Playing. This is a significant milestone, since we have not declined any previous weeks. However, upon surveying our joke stores, we found that while numerous jokes were in an early stage of development, the only one ripe and ready for use was a joke about saying the words “shark pizza” in an ever-escalating volume. Frankly, that sort of humor is beneath us and most of you. Some of you that’d be a step up from your usual work. You know if we’re talking about you.
At any rate, this week there will be no installment of WRUP. You can have your parking validated by Micah by the coat check, the same as every other week, so don’t worry about that. We’ll be back next week, probably with something more imaginative than “shark pizza.” There’s a crop coming in that’s all about gophers, we’re really excited about this cultivar. For now, though? Courage.
Bonus question: What’s your habit that you worry is the most obnoxious to your neighbors?
Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Oof, so busy game wise. Pokemon Go will probably take a chunk of time as I explore the new Mega system and search for the perfect kangaroo mon, but also Nintendo Switch Sports just came out. I guess this means I’ll get some exercise, which means Ring Fit Adventure will see a little less playtime so I don’t kill myself. Orna may just get rewards collection duty.
Obnoxious habits… this one’s hard because most of my immediate neighbors live on huge hills where they won’t have to see or hear me or my family, and we’re mostly quiet. I’m also the guy that helps folks with injured or lost animals, lets people know when they have a new home issue (undetected leak or “things” being exposed), or lets folks know what’s happening in the community when they come out for looky-loos. Huh.. maybe being a know-it-all? Thanks for the additional anxiety, Eliot.
Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Hobbitses. I’m deep in Lord of the Rings Online again.
Ugh this is hard because we live on a street of duplexes, and it’s tight quarters. It’s probably noise from sawing and drilling, or putting off mowing a few days too long.
Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): On the strength of Eliot’s recommendation, I’ve picked up Nightmare Reaper, so that will likely be a primary feature over the weekend. As for MMO things, I’ll probably continue to slowly make my way through the Shire in LOTRO (aka The Zone of Karens), see about inching through progress in Monster Hunter Rise, and mentally wrestle what the hell to do with myself in Final Fantasy XIV as I suffer from class-based ennui.
I’m pretty sure the neighbors of my apartment building are too stoned to give a toss what I do.
Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): I have no idea, honestly. Already done with my next review on the single-player side and kind of in a holding pattern in FFXIV. I have no idea what to do with myself. How does anyone?
My wife and I don’t try to be loud, but we probably can be without meaning to sometimes. Also, neither of us like talking to people very much.
Mia DeSanzo (@neschria): I am working the day job straight through the weekend for that sweet, sweet overtime, so my time will be limited. I will probably drop into No Man’s Sky because I haven’t finished the current Expedition. It’s taking me a little longer than usual. LOTRO has been tempting me lately. I am going to try to slip that into my rotation next week.
On the bonus question: We live in a townhouse. My husband has a killer stereo and a baby grand piano. We’re probably not the quietest neighbors of all time, but we manage to keep on everyone’s good side anyway.
Sam Kash (@thesamkash): This should be a relatively normal weekend for me so I expect to have some game time again. I’m still in shock that I haven’t played any of Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons but my partner in crime just hasn’t been feeling it. Instead, I imagine I’ll play some New World. Slowly but steadily I’m leveling up.
Bonus: Maybe the fact that I intentionally do my best not to make small talk with them. I just don’t like people very much and I’m going to do my best to avoid any unnecessary interactions.
