There was a span of time a few years back when I heavily engaged with the World of Warcraft economy to make as much gold as I could. Supposedly, this was to finance the purchase of subscription time, but honestly? It was to experience the satisfaction that comes from getting that really big virtual payday.

But for the most part, I’m not that driven to getting a lot of money in MMOs. I spend frugally, so my nest egg tends to grow all by itself for that rainy day when I need to splurge on a purpose.

How dedicated are you to building up your wealth in MMOs? Do you play the auction house? Are your gathering professions there as a side hustle? Is there a way you like to make a lot of gold that most people don’t do?
