Nightingale opens Steam stress test signups ahead of 2024 launch

Like many of you, we were sad to learn back in August that steampunk sandbox Nightingale was being delayed yet again – its third delay, as it was originally meant to hit early access in 2022. The Gamescom 2023 announcement from Tencent’s Inflexion Games pushed early access to February 22nd, 2024, meaning yet another long wait.

But perhaps not that long if you’re a tester, and if you aren’t already counted among that group, you’re about to get a chance as Inflexion is planning a stress test for the beginning of 2024.

“Inflexion Games invites players to join the server stress test and help ‘break the portal network’ – allowing the studio to rigorously test Nightingale’s servers to ensure a smooth Early Access launch. All interested players can sign up via Steam, where the game can also be wishlisted.”

And indeed that signup is easy; just head to Steam and click the “request access” button.

As we type this, the official blog post is still empty of information, but the press release promises “more details about the server stress test […] soon,” and the Steam post reiterates that, saying, “The team will gain valuable information to prepare for the Early Access launch in February. We hope that all participants can connect to the Realms and enjoy the first couple of hours of the game without interruption. However, it may be that all or some participants might experience longer than usual connection times, or may not be able to connect at all.
