It’s been a weird year for Astroneer, but the latest update to the game contains some good news for the studio and the game’s future as System Era joins forces with Devolver Digital. And there’s a roadmap coming, but it will not be coming until 2024, so you’ll have to wait a little bit longer for that. What you will not have to wait for is Project C.H.E.E.R. complete with new decorations, packaged toys, air-dropped gifts, and all the festive fun you could ask for while building a shelter on an uninhabited planet.
A new suit and a new color palette are all up as rewards, as well as a throwback bundle containing rewards from previous years. Of course, you’ll have to earn enough seasonal points in order to acquire these bundles, so you’d better get to work bundling and shipping off all those valuable materials in toy form. But at least your oxygen lines will have festive lights! It really gets you in the spirit, right?
