Warhaven is not dead, it was simply taking a break after its Halloween update. Break time is over now, though, and the team vs. team fantasy brawler title began its Pre-season 2 this past week with an update so large that its patch notes had to be broken up in two.

Some of the major features of this second pre-season are the addition of a new character named Claw, a swift and agile combatant who brings… well, attacks with a claw. He also has an ability that grant random boons like poison to cover his claw, additional aerial attacks, or a healing combat ration. The new character is demonstrated in a combat video below.

Pre-season 2 also adds several updates to combat mechanics like attack cancelling, superior blocks now staggering opponents, and some nerfs to Immortal transformations that end their attack cancels, basic attack staggers, and superior block staggers.

Naturally the new pre-season brings a new ranked battles season, complete with rewards based on Pre-season 1 rankings. Players can also enjoy a new 12 vs. 12 deathmatch mode in addition to the usual zone capture game modes; team deathmatch is playable in two of the game’s maps currently.

Other features of the update include a new world pass, new training features, new quests, new events like login rewards, and a host of other adjustments to characters, items, and stats screens. Those who don’t have time to read two pages’ worth of patch notes can take in a synopsis in the video below.
