Black Desert launches the Scholar on console as it celebrates four years of crossplay

Now listen, I’ve been married to a real-life scholar for a long time, and the only hammer I’ve ever seen him pick up is the kind that goes along with nails and a honey-do list. But Black Desert’s Scholar is a whole ‘nother creature, and this hammer-swinging class has officially arrived to the game’s console edition as of today.

“Korean developer and publisher Pearl Abyss updated its flagship MMORPG Black Desert Console today with the newest class, ‘Scholar”, a hammer-wielding alchemist known for her swift attacks and immense power. Adventurers who already own Black Desert Console immediately can try her out for free. […] The 27th class on Black Desert Console is a master manipulator of gravity. Using her two hammer types, Hammers and Gravity Cores, Scholar’s command of gravity enables her to trick enemies with unpredictable movements and overwhelming counter force.”

Pearl Abyss says that console fans can also look forward to a number of quality-of-life improvements based on the PC playerbase’s feedback: “smoother, faster animations on uneven terrain, expanded combo options, a strengthened Flow: Golden Thunder CC skill, and increased mobility.” And of course, the game is in the middle of anniversary season; the studio is celebrating the console version’s 4th anniversary of crossplay (yes) with a new infographic: 306 have capped toons, and nearly 300 of you have 30K hours played. Oh, and 20 of you have all three mythical horses – the real endgame.

Patch notes are up now!
