Black Desert cancels plans to kill off the old menu, aims to boost silver value

I think today’s header pic for Black Desert deserves captioning; that’s definitely what I look like pouring way too much salt into the stew while my son stands by sketching a meme about how I should stick to video game cooking. But no, it’s really just a herald for BDO’s two-week culinary and alchemy events, which themselves are only a small chunk of this week’s patch.

Pearl Abyss’ patch increases the number of notes in musical pieces, retools chat group titles, revamps the item copy system, tweaks sailing quest kills, helps noobs with storyline guidance after the main Mediah questline, and vows to fix rather than discard the game’s old menu following player feedback.

“In the April 3 update announcement, we notified our adventurers that the old menu will soon be unavailable for use. However, many adventurers who were still using the old menu gave us feedback regarding this news. In light of this, we’ve decided to enhance the use of the old menu, even though it may take some time, instead of removing it so that those who use it can continue to do so. We thank all adventurers who gave us feedback to change our minds.”

The update comes along with an acknowledgement about inflation of silver in the game’s economy; PA is warning players that it means to lift the market silver value for premium outfits from 1.63B to 2.2B. “The extractable quantity of Valks’ Cry or Cron Stones will remain unchanged,” the team says. “Only the highest possible Central Market value will be changing.”
