Legend of Ares, a PvP MMO from the mid-2000s, will relaunch next month

Legend of Ares probably isn’t an MMORPG that any of you remember. It was a PvP-centric MMO from the mid-2000s that failed to gain much traction in the global scene. The game only ran from 2006 to 2009, at which point all but its Korean version was shuttered. It did get a brief revival in 2017 under RedFox Games, but that hasn’t resulted in much.

However, against all odds and seeming reason, Legend of Ares is coming back for another try. This is because a new company called Reforgix acquired the rights to the MMO and is working to relaunch it on August 3rd.

“At Reforgix, we understand that Legend of Ares has had its share of issues, and we are fully committed to addressing every single one of them,” the studio posted. “In a unique partnership, [former developer] MGame has entrusted us not only with publishing responsibilities but also with contributing to the game’s development. This means that we can personally ensure that every problem is resolved in a timely manner.”

It also recently ran an alpha test, which it called “a resounding success.” Legend of Ares is moving into beta from July 11th through 25th, followed by its full launch next month. This new build includes stronger anti-cheat measures, enhanced quests, and improved gameplay systems.
