Editor’s note: Please read this entry to your cat with your best pronunciation. Read it in its entirety, not at a higher volume than usual. Should your cat wander off in the middle of reading it, follow your cat and begin from the start once again. The cat will know what it means. If you do not own a cat, you may obtain a cat, or you may visit a friend who does have a cat. If that cat’s owner has already read this to the cat, find another cat. Stray cats may enjoy it, but they are under no obligation to act in accordance with its edicts. Failure to observe these conditions indemnifies the writer of What Are You Playing from prosecution in certain regions of Senegal (pending review by Senegal authorities).

Bonus question: What’s the best kind of cat? (Note: picking a non-cat animal or complaining about cats means you have failed the assignment. International Cat Day just happened. We’re talking about cats.)

Ben Griggs (@braxwolf): I am back in The Elder Scrolls Online and checking out this shiny new scribing system. Might watch some Quakecon streams if the mood strikes.

Bonus: the best kind of cat is the kind that poops inside the box!

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I’ve been playing Star Wars Galaxies Legends doing my summer mega-cook. I have run about 25K things so far and I have about double that to go to have my vendors fully restocked in time for me to get distracted by Guild Wars 2.

My first and last cats were maine coons, and imo those raggedy fluffballs can’t be topped.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): The update to Elite: Dangerous means I’m trying to get into engineering in the game for the first time. It’s not going great, if I’m honest, but I’ll keep chipping away at that. Otherwise it’ll likely be my usual Final Fantasy XIV dailies and whatnot.

The best kind of cat is the one that you adore being alongside, whether that’s at arm’s length or right on your lap.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Mostly just my usual FFXIV stuff, plus a game or two for review. It’s been a difficult week so I’m hoping the weekend might help perk me up a little, but I have to admit I’m not expecting any miracles.

The best cat is every cat. I love every cat and dearly want to press my face into their fluffy tummies. Yes, including tigers.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): Right now I’m pretty on fire for my Lord of the Rings Online Captain’s journey through the new Angmar server. So I’ll probably be playing her in Yondershire, with perhaps some Guild Wars 2 and Fallout 76 shenanigans thrown in for good measure.

Sam Kash (@thesamkash): I’m hammering away at the seasonal update that dropped for Harry Potter Magic Awakened a couple of weeks ago. I think they released it at just about the same time as the Chapter 4 story so I didn’t realize there was any seasonal content going on. I thought it was all big story stuff. The seasonal story stuff is really short now which I think I mentioned before. Anyways I’m still content with that.

Bonus: My old boy Georgie is the best kind of cat. 17 and living strong. Actually not all that strong. Kind of rickety. But he is my boy. He’s a Sylvester type and he’s the best.

Tyler Edwards (blog): I’m back in World of Warcraft. Catching up on Shadowlands while I wait for War Within. I have taken an instant and passionate dislike to Torghast.
