Tarisland reaffirms Steam launch coming in October, kicks off event to drive wishlisting

I expect some people are learning today that Tarisland never came to Steam at all when Tencent launched its WoW-inspired MMOPRG here in the west earlier this summer, but it’s true – and now Tencent is rectifying that.

“We are excited to share that Tarisland will be launching on Steam in October!” the team announced this morning. “You can now add Tarisland to your wishlist.”

It’s not entirely brand-new information, as the team did tease a Steam release for October during its Gamescom pitch. Indeed, there’s no official date beyond October listed, but it stands to reason that it’ll coincide with the Blight Dragon Elegy first season the same month.

It wouldn’t be Tarisland, however, without a goofy hype wishlisting event attached to the launch, and this part is new.

“To celebrate our launch on Steam, we’ve prepared a series of community activities for our enthusiastic players. To complete the first quest, you must defeat Aslow by adding Tarisland to your Steam wishlist. With each addition to the wishlist, the boss will receive 1 point of damage. If you manage to defeat her (additional 10,000 waitlist required), we will distribute 500 exclusive in-game reward codes that include free Achromatic Crystals!”
