If you’re ready for a new PvE-focused challenge in Once Human, then you’re in luck because today has brought the new Way of Winter scenario online, letting players check out a new game world that focuses on dealing with extreme temperatures as part of its overall survivalbox beats.

“Metas will travel to the snow-covered land of Arkam and join forces with a faction of local survivors known as the Column. Together, you will find ways to survive the extreme cold and heat and discover the secrets hiding within the mountains. You must also foil the dark plans of Igna, the leader of the Vultures, destroy the massive living machines causing climate disasters, and save the world from destruction once again.”

The new frigid portion of the game’s map features 60 “riddle spots,” 30 scenic view spots to find, and precious mystical crates hiding around the zone. The scenario will also (unsurprisingly) introduce a focus on maintaining body temperature as well as managing weather systems that can affect buildings and enemies, unlock a base item that will let players control the weather, and weather-changing Chaosweaver world bosses to fight. There are also new deviations, new challenges, a variety of events, and several adjustments and bug fixes.

Unfortunately, moving to the servers where this new scenario is housed is a bit of a mess, requiring players to pick up a specific transfer item between now and November 17th, but NetEase’s Starry Studio promises a future update will let players move to different scenarios for free for a limited time.
