World of Warcraft is selling a $90 dino mount to ‘celebrate’ its 20th birthday

The Warcraft franchise has been around for 30 years, and so maybe you feel like you have just ridden on as many bats, gryphons, wyverns, and hippogryphs as you could possibly want. “That’s enough of those,” you say. If that’s the case, World of Warcraft’s 30th anniversary mount bundle is not for you. But if you’d like a new selection of all four mounts? Well, here’s a bundle of four such mounts for $30. You might wonder why that says four mounts when it lists eight mounts, but it’s actually four mounts in the retail game and four mounts in WoW Classic that are identical to the retail version. But at least you can ride them in whichever version of the game you want.

But these mounts aren’t the only new addition that Blizzard is making for the 20th anniversary. The studio has also added the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur mount, a long-necked dino that includes mail and auction house functionality baked in. Oh yeah, and it’s $90. Naturally, people are pretty steamed, even as they hand over their wallets and congratulate Microsoft for its incoming cash haul.

“Don’t forget you can invest in your new gilded age with WoW Tokens,” Blizzard casually reminds you. “WoW Tokens purchased from the Auction house for gold can be redeemed for Battle.net Balance.” Indeed, players have already been tracking the impact on tokens since the mount was announced yesterday.
