We don't mean anything bad!

We’ve reported before how most players of Fortnite seem to not care about Epic Games’ attempt to forge a multi-game metaverse platform that whirs together Cybertrucks, all things Disney, and various live events. Most gamers just want to play the original battle royale mode, as evidenced by record-breaking player numbers when the Season OG brought the old map back last year.

If you were counted among those millions, there’s good news: Fortnite OG is coming back and it’s “here to stay” apparently. “The OG OG” will return to the shooter on Friday, December 6th, with the promise of the original map, all of its original weapons, and the return of original seasons, starting with Chapter 1 Season 1 (naturally).

Specifics on just how this will all shake down haven’t been shared yet, but the announcement most definitely makes it sound like it will be a permanent fixture to the shooter overall similar to its ongoing Remix seasonal mode. We expect more details to arrive at some time later. Hey, Epic, if you really want to throw it back, how about revitalizing the original PvE mode that was first pitched? You’re not listening, are you?
