Blizzard fans eagerly awaiting the Warcraft Direct showcase later today already have plenty to tide them over thanks to two big drops from the company last night.
First, Overwatch 2 rolled out Overwatch Classic last night as promised, offering players the “chance to step back in time and experience the thrilling origins of Overwatch” via classic maps, the original hero roster, and 6v6 matches with no-limit team compositions. If you liked the original-flavor Overwatch better than the sequel, this one’s for you. The mode is live through December 2nd.
Second, the Diablo IV team also sat for its mid-season Campfire Chat last night, and we have some bad news for folks playing the Spiritborn: You’re destined for nerfs, though not until next season. In the interim, Blizzard will be trying to bring other classes up in desirability so that y’all will stop rolling Spiritborn. When almost two-thirds of players have one, yeah, it’s a problem. Blizzard also teased the return of the Red Cloaked Horror event and a welcome back buff on deck.
The showcase for the Warcraft franchise kicks off at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
