Remember Echoes of Elysium, the multiplayer survivalbox coming from Jeff Hickman’s Loric Games? It’s one of multiple co-op skyship-themed sandboxes we’ve been watching for the last few years, and in fact, this past summer the devs said the main game loop was basically ready and playable. That dovetails nicely with this week’s announcement: Loric Games has tapped Snail Games to publish.
“Snail Games is proud to announce its partnership with Loric Games, acquiring publishing rights for Echoes of Elysium, an airship survival RPG set in a breathtaking procedural world of mystery and discovery,” the studios announced yesterday. “This strategic collaboration aims to optimize the game and its reach by combining the creative vision of Loric Games with the global publishing power of Snail Games.”
Snail Games, of course, is well-known to MMO and multiplayer gamers as it’s the publisher behind lots of survival sandboxes, from ARK Survival Ascended and Dark and Light to Bellwright and Last Oasis.
“At Snail Games, we’re always seeking out fresh experiences that push the boundaries of survival RPG gaming, ” Snail says. “What stood out to us about Echoes of Elysium was the game’s vibrant aesthetic and its innovative airship gameplay, offering players the chance to build, fly, and live in the skies. It’s a creative and distinctive take on the genre, and we’re excited to help bring it to players around the world.”
There’s still no release window, but the pitch for the game hasn’t changed: “Echoes of Elysium offers a unique blend of open-world exploration, co-op gameplay, RPG mechanics, and airship building all set in the skies of Elysium. Players will design and customize airships that serve as both transport and home, gather resources, craft tools, and uncover the secrets of a fractured paradise.”
Most recently, Loric has released a dev blog about the starting experience for players, which begins on a ship rather than on the ground.
