Superhero MMO project City of Titans shows off gameplay improvements after a quiet 2024

It’s probably not the best sign when a developing MMO barely pokes its head up to make any sort of fuss over the course of an entire year (and sadly lost its lead city designer during that span of time). But does that mean that such a project is dead in the water? City of Titans wants to say “no” to this with a 2024 development roundup after a year of laying very low.

In a nearly eight-minute video that shows pre-alpha test footage, Missing Worlds Media claims that it’s actually had a “busy year” working on the game. The studio says that it’s made improvements to character movement across terrain, hand-held weapons, smarter enemy AI, and “snappy, powerful, and quick” combat. The studio also showed off an early look at inventory and the mission and contact system, all of which should be familiar to anyone who’s played City of Heroes.

“We’ve got an exciting year ahead,” said the studio. “Our next update aims to include a lot of the functionality you saw here as well as a few other surprises.”
