Palia studio Singularity 6 must be feeling pretty smug right about now, what with being Daybreak’s top performer, but it won’t be resting on its laurels. Last night, the studio released a smol dev roadmap along with a fireside-chat-ish video outlining what fans of the cozy MMO can expect in the short term.
S6 director of production Maxwell Zierath first teases the return of Winterlights, which is basically Palia’s holiday event. This year’s Winterlights, however, will properly blanket the hub town in snow, alongside new quests, a giant snowman community event, a massive build-out of the tint system for furniture, and a new architectural line for housing that mirrors the mayor’s estate.
Also of note is that Zierath explains the upcoming Lunar Path system, which is basically a battle pass, though that term doesn’t really work for the cozy game; players will progress through the pass content (with no expiration date, note) while unlocking a range of rewards, including goodies from the cash shop – and also pieces of the new housing architecture.
Further into the future, the team is planning to create an in-game system for passing along info from the devs to players (so you don’t need to sit on the website or Discord to know what’s going on).
Finally, Zierath talks up future plushies (fairy mantis!), Ulfe’s friendship quest, more alchemist cottage construction pieces, balancing simplicity and complexity in housing design, the success of the seasonal cadence for the game. And as for the next adventure zone, it’s still in development!
