Hey, do you have plans for early next summer locked in already? If not, Monsters & Memories would like to bid for your time, as the throwback-styled indie MMORPG announced that it’s aiming to launch into early access on June 1st.
In the latest dev letter, the team at Niche Worlds Cult shared that date and the tasks it has left before it gets into beta. The current plans are to run more alpha tests in January and February, followed by beta testing in March (which will wipe from beta), and a “beta lock” (where the build is finalized) by May 1st. Following that, the team will prep for early access launch and the rollout of Module 1.
This announcement does come with some caveats, the biggest of which is that the team is giving itself wiggle room to alter dates or reduce scope if the “aggressive” schedule doesn’t pan out as planned. A Trello roadmap of all of the current projects was shared with the community as well.
Of course, you don’t have to wait until next June to play: Monsters & Memories is holding an open playtest this coming weekend from Saturday through Monday.
