EverQuest reworks progression server rules while EverQuest II’s new servers are weeks away

EverQuest fans, mark your calendars for March 16th. The 20th anniversary date of the first title in this franchise will see four specialty server launches across both EverQuest and EverQuest II.

Daybreak announced that it is reworking the rulesets to EverQuest’s two shards following heavy player criticism earlier in February. Now, the Selo server will feature fast progression through rapid unlocks and speedy XP gain, while Mangler is going to be a standard progression server that begins at the start and slowly works its way through all expansions at the pace of one every 12 weeks.

Over at EverQuest II, the Nagafen seasonal PvP server is ready to go with progression through free-for-all player vs. player combat, a single character restriction, leaderboards, dropped coin and loot, and the pursuit of special cosmetic armorsets. Or if PvE is more your bag, the Kaladim shard is set to be a time-locked expansion server (one per 16 weeks) with an interesting collection quest mechanic.
