Ah yes, seagulls, that makes sense.

Do you greatly enjoy sand’s relative coarseness, its rough texture, and its ability to get everywhere? This is the correct way of thinking! No one would dislike sand outside of literal villains. But perhaps you’re curious why we’re even talking about it, and to that we direct you to the official Steam page of upcoming extraction shooter Sand, which is all about explaining why the game is the way that it is. Because you need to know why you are riding a giant stompy sand-mech looking for treasure as you ride around in a giant stompy sand-mech.

Set in an alternate universe before World War I, Sand takes place on a moon named Sophie, which the Astro-Hungarian empire had controlled before abandoning the moon. There’s still a lot of treasure left up on the abandoned satellite, however, and so player characters will load up their Tramplers (the aforementioned sand-mechs) with treasures gathered from the moon before heading for extraction. Check out the full rundown if you’re curious about how much sand you can get into. (Spoiler: Lots of sand.) We’ve been keeping an eye on this one since it was revealed at Summer Games Fest, although hopefully that eye will not get sand in it.
