Before you ask: No, we still don’t know when in October Tarisland’s Blight Dragon Elegy and first proper season are launching, but no matter what, it’s no more than 20 days away now, right? Which makes it a useful time for Tencent to flesh out the game’s first major raid, dubbed Grey Fog Citadel – or Misty Fortress, as it’s called in the link.
Unfortunately, the dev blog purporting to preview the raid doesn’t really offer much of use to raiders looking for info on strategy, apart from the fact that what’s launching is actually just the first part of the raid. Instead, the blog is chiefly another bizarrely constructed lore post that I think is just meant to be backstory for the major bosses in the raid, though technically the studio doesn’t say that. They are:
- Necrosas, the Devil in Mirror [sic], is a “being of pure terror, devoid of emotion, intellect, or form” that “exists as a myriad of shattered mirrors” and torments little kids;
- Attis, Simpson, Roxanne, Elion, aka the Council of Four; and
- Safin, the Guider – and this where it really goes off the rails. Safin is apparently a beautiful gay abbess who fell in love with a girl and admitted it to her abbot, who – and this is a direct quote – “smiled sinisterly and began to undress her under the guise of an exorcism.” The girl helped Saffin escape at the cost of her life, and then Safin turns to the devout darkside in the hopes of resurrecting her beloved. I promise you, the real thing is way more disturbing on so many levels than this summary.
Again, we continue to be baffled by the rollout of info for this update. Someone make it make sense.
