Lord of the Rings Online revs up for Legacy of Morgoth with testing and preview

It’s just a week and change until Lord of the Rings Online introduces its 10th expansion, Legacy of Morgoth, to the world on November 6th — and the good news is that it doesn’t look as if players will be seeing any delays as in some past years.

On last Friday’s livestream, the game’s community manager confirmed that everything’s still proceeding as planned. A final beta test is expected to go up on Monday, followed by a developer preview livestream covering the entire expansion this Friday.

And if you’ve ever wondered what happened to ye olde fog of war that used to be on the LOTRO game map back in the day, a dev explained why this feature fell by the wayside: “I miss the Map Panel Fog of War too – however, if I recall correctly, it was removed to help reduce character data size, which is a worthy change as characters get older and carry around more information.”
