Elite Dangerous players brace for the worst as the last Thargoid Titan makes its way to Earth

The past two years have seen a long and drawn-out fight between the players of Elite: Dangerous and the alien force of the Thargoids, which has somewhat recently seen players slowly destroying the massive Thargoid Titan motherships in several star systems one by one. The war has taken a decidedly worrying turn last week, however, as the final mothership, Titan Cocijo, has left its original location and is headed for the Sol system.

Hints have been placed earlier in the week of something different happening in the Thargoid War, but now a new in-universe news post and an associated video sees the aliens moving towards Earth, with previously occupied Thargoid systems now suddenly emptying in what appears to be a full court press for Sol.

Additional reporting from YouTube channel The Buur Pit further provides some footage of the “Stargoid” mothership hurtling towards Sol and guesses that the invaders may be looking for something in the system, perhaps at the inaccessible moon of Triton or an ancient relic found on Mars.

CMDR Buur further estimates that the Thargoid force will arrive at some point on the week of December 8th, likely at the server tick on Thursday, December 12th. In the meantime, the Sol system is in a state of Thargoid alert, with several objectives players can take up to help with the system’s defense and multiple passenger freight missions available as part of a wider evacuation order from the Pilots’ Federation.
