If that headline seems like it’s a big ol’ pile of stuff, well, you’re not wrong: Blizzard’s variety of games are adding all kinds of smaller things that can be cobbled together into one parfait of content. At least “small” insofar as treasure goblins, a collab, and the return of the Diablo boss fight are concerned, anyway.
We begin with Diablo IV and its seasonal Slay Ride to Hell event, which brings back treasure goblin spawns at an accelerated rate between December 17th and January 2nd. Players can expect goodies like ancestral unique items, limited-time cosmetics, and a wider community goblin-killing goal that unlocks extra rewards like a resplendent spark at the final tier.
Other pieces of the OARPG’s upcoming patch include the return of the Mother’s Blessing event, a hint of a new gilded splendor event, and another free limited-time test drive of the Spiritborn class.
Over in Diablo Immortal, this week has heralded the return of the Diablo boss fight for the mobile OARPG, bringing a new region that houses the fated fight, new difficulties for challenge dungeons and helliquary bosses, new legendary gems, and a pair of limited-time events on top of returning events. It’s a packed enough update to warrant a cinematic trailer below.
Finally, Overwatch 2 has decided that next week is the time to hold a collaboration event with the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The collab will offer challenges that unlock rewards like a Katara-styled skin for Mei, unique voice lines, and sprays, while several other characters will have Avatar-themed skins on offer (likely through the cash shop). The event is scheduled from December 17th through the 30th.
