Bonus question: What’s your favorite seasonal scent?
Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): I’m looking forward to some Big Run in Splatoon 3 this weekend, assuming the pup allows it.
Pumpkin spice is 100% my favorite seasonal scent, to the point I will use it off season as a wild card (but also because I have a Vitamin E lotion with it and keep forgetting to buy a non-seasonal one).
Brianna Royce (@nbrianna.bsky.social, blog): Does running around like a madwoman a week and a half before Christmas count as an MMO? Think I’ve run MMO encounters that are less intense. I hope to make it into Guild Wars 2 this weekend. Maybe back to Path of Exile 2 too, though I may take some advice from Bluesky and just sit on it for a bit to see what GGG does next. I want to pop into a few other MMOs over the holiday too – maybe Lord of the Rings Online, since Yule just began.
I try to get into balsam and birch and pine scents when it’s really cold, but I always end up back with peppermint and coffee waxes at Christmas. Peppermint is a year-rounder in my house!
Carlo Lacsina (@UltraMudkipEX, YouTube, Twitch): I’m really tired. Really really tired. I need something slow, cerebral, and cozy. I’ll be playing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 with a warm blanket and a mug of tea for the weekend.
My favorite seasonal scent would have to be the smell of Christmas; it’s my favorite holiday!
Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes.bsky.social, blog): I’m hitting a little bit of a wall with Palworld, but not enough that I’m going to stop. Just need to reassess my progress and grind up a little. I’m otherwise probably going to be pretty much a lump for the weekend if I’m honest. I haven’t been sleeping very well recently and I am weary.
I love autumnal scents the most, so the basic ones like cinnamon or apple pie spices or warm vanillas. If that makes me basic, then so be it. I’ll be over here sniffing these lovely candles.
Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): The most recent patch has finally drawn me back to Warframe, so I’ll be mixing that with Final Fantasy XIV and some single-player games. That’s enough to fill up a weekend, right? Gosh, I hope so.
Cinnamon and apple scents are some of my favorites, but I also have a love for the summer scent of an ocean spray. Yes, I know the ocean doesn’t go anywhere during the winter, but the warm air does something to it.
Sam Kash (@samkash@mastodon.social): I haven’t been able to get my wife to play Throne and Liberty with me yet. I think I’ll have to wait until the New Year to really get her to log in again. We were able to play once right at launch but she got hit with a anti cheat boot and hasn’t logged back in yet. So for now I’ll have to be happy playing Sea of Stars as a co-op.
Bonus: I really like pumpkin and cinnamon smells. I would suppose that peppermint might be the smell of the season, but I love pumpkins. Although I did get a coffee scented candle a week ago and it’s been pretty fantastic.
Tyler Edwards (blog): I remain in limbo as I await the arrival of my new computer and approach week four of being sick with the flu. Currently I’m killing time by finishing my season pass in New World and enjoying the D. Va buffs in Heroes of the Storm. The other day I had a nail-biting Dragonshire victory where I ended the match #1 in kills/assists, hero damage, siege damage, and XP contribution, with the lowest deaths too!
Bonus: I’m not much a scents person. Does the fresh air of a midwinter night count?
