Sometimes you bite off a little more than you can chew. For the vast majority of people, doing so doesn’t really have many negative consequences; you just deal with the fact that you overestimated your abilities a wee bit and move on with your life. But with video games, such as multiplayer Lynked: Banner of the Spark, sometimes it means that an update has to get delayed. In this case, the game’s planned winter feature update is having most of its planned updates pushed into 2025 to make sure that everything is polished and good.
The plus side is that the new features originally planned for this month (such as a new weapon core, a new Unibot, new character customization options, and new combat areas) are still planned for early 2025, and players who log in by January 6th will receive a special Candy Payne weapon by way of a gentle apology. So hopefully you’re still looking forward to what the game has on deck, even if you have to wait just a wee bit longer for it.
For those who might not remember, Lynked is a Dreamhaven-published co-op roguelike, Dreamhaven being Mike Morhaime’s new outfit. MOP’s Sam tried it out when it hit early access back in October and kind of loved it, both for the combat and the lifeskill content.
