Landmark’s landmasses are getting a major facelift in the sandbox’s last big wipe coming up next week. Not only are more biomes (underwater, volcanic, and deciduous) being introduced with their own unique flora, materials, and props, but the topography of the continents themselves is being overhauled to bring more variety to the landscape. Players who’ve always yearned for waterfront property without running to the edge of the map can choose from inland islands, peninsulas, and even archipelagos.
Additional changes include the return of surface caves (which can now be claimed) and the banishment of all mobs to the underground cavern systems. Players will, however, still have to be wary of the exploding mushrooms on the surface . The underground cavern system has also been reworked to reduce dead ends, lower lighting, and add more than 10 times the number of caverns and ruins per each layer than before.
