RuneScape Dragonwilds’ survivalbox early access marches onward today with the introduction of the May 0.11.2 update, though it’s not the biggest update ever. That’s coming next month. Today’s update, however, includes a new quest in Stormtouched Highlands, the big runecrafting revamp, a slashening of teleport costs (by half or so across the board), clarity for attunement, the hide helmet toggle, a pass on tool durability, fishing music, and a player-designed cape.
Over the weekend, Jagex also updated the game’s roadmap, noting a few shifts in the schedule as well as a firming-up of others. For example, Umbral Sands is expected in June, the addition of the agility skill is coming earlier than expected in July, August will be a skip month, Scorned Wilderness will roll out in September, and the Luminance update in December will now have the prayer skill. Umbral Sands might be the most interesting bit here since it’s closest.
“This Major Update brings Ashenfall’s largest region to date, alongside everything you’ve come to expect from these kinds of updates. We’ll be adding an additional tier of material progression, including Adamant Armour, Infinity Robes and Red Dragonhide. Complete quests to help Icthlarin root out the cause of the chaos that has corrupted the sands of this region. Cross the sands on a Magic Carpet, and introduce the chitinous carapace of the Kalphites to cold steel- I mean, Adamantite. We’ll also be introducing a new in-game challenge called the Nightmare Crucible. A heightened challenge that pits you against the toughest enemies Ashenfall has… so far.”
The team also promises to return to its monthly cadence once the September update is out.
