World of Warcraft shares the patch notes for its first phase of The War Within alpha testing

The time has come for those who signed up or bought in to test the next expansion of World of Warcraft: The self-described “public alpha one” version of The War Within has opened up to testers this week and brought with it its first set of patch notes for the current build.

Major features for this test include the new Isle of Dorn zone; two dungeons in the form of the Rookery and Cinderbrew Meadery; the first set of hero talents for classes, with a particular focus on the Druid, Warrior, and Monk classes; multiple profession adjustments; and a first look at the expansion’s dynamic flight system.

Players who are in this first alpha are encouraged to make a new template character as opposed to copying an existing one, as well as take advantage of NPC features that can grant access to hero talents right from the jump if they so choose. In the meantime, characters will start at level 70 and can work their way to a max level of 73. And for those who would rather stay outside but peer in, a preview of the Isle of Dorn awaits in the embed below.
