Put this in a thing to store it.

Great news for those who had their minds blown with that Steparu Lost Ark video last year: The Diablo-esque action RPG may indeed be coming to the west.

In an interview with Worlds Factory, Tripod Studios said that it’s aiming to bring this game out of its home country: “First, we will be launching in the Korean market. In 2015, we are going to proceed with [the closed beta test]. We are considering launching Lost Ark in western market, and the date will be finalized after solidifying the service schedule in Korea.”

The interview goes on to discuss Lost Ark’s many features, including explorable regions, a PvP battleground system, ownable islands, a “broad and extensive” economy, 18 classes, and NPCs who must be won over before you can access their secret adventures. A business model has not been decided as of yet.

If you’re just hearing about Lost Ark for the first time, check out the gameplay trailer after the jump to see what all the fuss is about.

First impressions.  The game looks beautiful.  The animations are fun and pretty creative.  Although, with that many colorful animations on the screen it make become way too with a few characters on the screen.  All in all, perhaps they’ll learn from the failings of D3 in their implementation to NA.

victorianrobot  That would be quite a nice spin to see. It’s kind of sad that the most customization you usually get nowadays in ARPGs is gender choice. The Armor Transmog system in D3 is very nice, and I understand why they don’t allow you to customize your character’s looks (needs to be in-tune with the character portraits during dialogue, which would mean drawing individual portraits for every single combo of visuals if they allowed it), but it would still be a nice thing to see in the future.
The only ARPG that comes to mind that had any real customization on par with Torchlight 2 was that old game Mythos that went through development hell some five times before ultimately being consigned to the history books.

AdeptusEnginus Eliasar_ Rubberbanding is the main reason why I had to stop playing Diablo III. Hopefully one of these days the problem will disappear and I’ll be able to finish the game!

Great news!! I’ve been wondering what was going on with this game…I didn’t expect the possibility of it coming here. :)

I’ve been trying to find an ARPG that also has visual customization of the character model itself, like the Torchlight series offers, except with more options. (I’m not expecting Aion levels of customization here) if an ARPG mixed in that kind of customization on top of the armor customization and skill customization players usually expect from the genre, it’d push a lot of my happy buttons and fill a spot yet to be filled. To adventure as whatever I create would be fun! Archetypes are nice and all but in the end I want to really feel like I’ve created the character I’m playing (Skyrim, MMOs with great customization, Dragon Age: Inquisiton, etc) – visually, statwise, skillwise, armorwise, the whole shebang. If I could do that within an ARPG setting, that’d be awesome. Grinding the night away as whatever character I’ve made up in cool settings with flashy skills – sounds amazing.

I’d also like more randomly generated levels in a bottomless dungeon type of dungeon… but I digress. :P ARPGs are definitely fun. Glad to see another one POSSIBLY coming over here. I hope more customization and spins on the genre come out, assuming it gains some renewed popularity.

Yeah but western MMOs are often comicky or a tad too casual so I guess both groups have their pros and cons which are of course subjective. I do have that BDO doesn’t have instanced dungeons as of now…
I’d love to have a game with Korean MMO looks and a mix of Western and Eastern game mechanics but until that happens I’d rather stick to bless etc… If only I could ;)
