World of Warships highlights the in-game functionality of signal flags

So, yes, boat.

In the real world, ships started making use of signal flags as a method of communication because it’s easier to fly a flag than to try to shout to other ships. World of Warships had to include these flags, naturally, but the flags serve more of a purpose than simple communication in a game that features a chat function to begin with. No, the signal flags still serve to communicate because they’re functionally gear for your warships.

Sets of flags can be earned in a variety of ways; players can earn a set of flags that will swiftly put out fires, for example, when a ship goes down due to a fire on deck. Aside from providing the benefit, the flags also will communicate the ship’s immunity to other players. It’s an interesting system, and one that you can learn all about in the video development diary embedded just below.

There is something satisfying in seeing the ship that just sunk you take 2 or 3 torpedoes that you managed to launch and blowing up  ;-)  “from hell’s abyss i stab at thee!”  lol.

Yep, I’m really enjoying the game currently.  The difference in play styles between the ship types keep it interesting and the differences between nations also keeps me changing my tactics.  My Battleship has fire nightmares though   :-D

Really fun game.   They’re being very generous with silver coin right now.   I have found that I most enjoy Destroyers.    Torpedoes are so much fun.  they do horrific damage.   Also fun with the smokescreens…
The sinkings are so amazing to watch, so many different animations of how they go down.   Break apart.  Capsize.  Bow first, stern first, a slow steady sink, pretty much any outcome you can think of.   It’s your own little Titanic movie.
I also like how your ship’s destruction is handled, you’re sort of pulled back from the view and you realize your game is over.  It’s not terribly scary, alarming, shocking etc., you feel only a small regret, not anything that is too traumatic.  It keeps the game fun.
I’ve barely begun to play in matches with aircraft, I can see they can be sent on different missions, scouting, torpedoes, bombing, etc.   Can’t wait to unlock my American carrier class.   Currently just having so much fun with japanese Destroyers.
