Revival clocks in a full year of production

It’s been a year of full production on IllFonic’s sandbox Revival and there’s a lot to catch up on regarding the title. The team is on the verge of releasing a new build that includes a robust home decoration system that plays into the game’s dynamic design.

IllFonic has been talking about more than just nesting, of course. The team took a dev diary to outline the potential for playing as a Caraveener, a character who invests a lot of money in good shipments in the hopes of a large payout. Another career possibility? Making, bottling, and branding your own wine (or one of many other types of crafting professions).

The team also discussed how it will be using a difficulty scaling meter for its enemies across the game world: “Revival doesn’t have character/mob levels. Secondly, we don’t scale our NPC enemy levels based on your level. They are either easy or ridiculously difficult, depending on how good of a player you are. How good of a player you are depends on how how well you’re using our skill system.”

IllFonic said that it is also wrapping up the final bits of its work on Star Citizen and will be participating in other projects such as Friday the 13th: The Game.
