Weeeell…  If you want an Inner Sphere (IS) mech which might be more forgiving than most I’d advice maybe going for the MAD-3R Marauder, though it is not out for C-bills yet, so getting one costs real money until then.  Now, granted I have a lot more playtime in MWO than MJ, and as such probably have an easier time than her there (thoughI’m hardly a good pilot, probably average at best).  The Marauder, however has proven itself to be a very solid and consistant high scorer for me, and the MAD-3R is the “tankiest” of the variants, particularly if you stick with a Standard engine rather than an XL, meaning the loss of a side torso won’t kill you.  The fairly small front profile of the Marauder along with its structure quirks means it can tank damage by spreading it out between the various parts of the mech more easily from that angle.  Of course, get one from the side and it’s as wide as the broadside of a barn, but then again why are you showing your side to the enemy?

So, Marauder would be my first recommendation.  A lot of what makes a mech work for a person depends on your personal piloting style.  A mech which works for one person might not work well for another due to style.

Fun stream !

I would not feel bad about that last match in the Timberwolf, your team picked a poor location.

I think that the Catapult works quite well for you, especially with your own personnal Centurion watching your back lol.
Any other role involves learning about things like peeking and torso rolling and while these skills help in a LRM boats they are not as important.

If you are going to be doing these streams for a while I would suggest trying a couple more kinds of mechs/roles but otherwise Catapult all the way!

Phew what to say. MWO can be really hard to get into.
MJ posed a question at the end of stream: which mech should I choose for my playstyle? Ultimately: it’s still hard to tell.  You are too green behind your ears to really give a straight answer to that. You need tons of more playtime to get to a decent level.

I probably could say more but Light Mechs are the ultimate training. A good light pilot needs perfect control of his mech and good situational awareness. So if you do decent in a light mech you will do good in any other weight class.

I started  the game in a Light Mech and, at first, 300-400 damage in a mech was absolutely an achievement to me. By now 300-400 damage is an average score for me(except if I’m in a Light Mech).
