Paragon’s early access starts on March 18 with Founder’s packs

Down the only road we now know, apparently.

There have been plenty of tidbits coming out about Paragon lately, but you won’t have to rely upon tidbits to get a sense of the game starting on March 18th. Early access can be purchased by buying one of the game’s three Founder’s Packs, and if you didn’t expect the game to have that option we don’t know what rock you’ve been living under.

The cheapest option is $20, while players with more money to pledge for the game can go in for $60 or a princely $100 for a wider variety of skins, unlockable items, boosts, and a free pack to give to a friend. It’s worth noting for the record that all of the game’s heroes will be free, so you’re buying nothing more than cosmetics with bigger packs. Not willing to put up the money? You can still sign up for the beta, or you can wait for open testing starting sometime this summer.

Oh, guess that means I can forget about a beta invite.

Siphaed Nobler maybe, but the profit charts disagree with you on what’s “smarter”.

But unlike Heroes of the Storm, they’re at least not trying to do a
cash-grab jump into the genre.  HotS had it’s “Founder’s Pack” as a
$39.99 price for 3 heroes and a skin variation for each one; also a
mount.  But the heroes in that game cost $10-20 each!~   So Paragon is
going the route that all heroes are free, but cosmetics cost.  Such a
smarter choice.

Just an FYI to people in the alpha, if you have not played on any of the alpha week ends so far, make sure to connect on the last test next week. This will ensure that you receive access to this paid early access for free.

Compared to the vivid pantheon of Smite or catchy design of Gigantic, the setting and characters of Paragon look so incredibly dull…
Then again, it’s Epic games so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and sign up.
