Warframe celebrates third birthday with almost 23M registered users

Warframe has been busy celebrating its birthday month with anniversary goodies. “Since Warframe’s release in 2013, more than 22 million players have played 2.1 billion Missions, crafted more than 18.5 million Warframes in the Foundry, killed 13.8 billion enemy Grineer Lancers, and gained more than 53.9 trillion XP,” says Digital Extremes.

Quite a lot of those folks are playing on console, so they’ll be happy to know that the Sands of Inaros update is finally launching on Xbox One and PS4 today.

Oh yeah… and there’s a birthday infographic. Did you not think there’d be an infographic? There’s always an infographic!

Sorenthaz ZenDadaist Damonvile Enikuo Yeah atm Nezha is Sortie reward only but parts are tradeable. And nerf your Sortie luck this season :p I got a second Nezha Chassis and all the rest of the days have been 25x Fusion cores except for 1 50x. I seriously reckon their RNG has broken. I want my Snipeotron Vandal :< I couldn’t get the Sheev BP last season either. Got allt he parts, got the other rewards. No BP…

It’s one of the few things I really don’t like about the game. Sortie reward RNG.

I went Naramon at Second Dream so I’m zipping about cleaving things in two and invisible while I’m at it. I am working on Zenurik as well but I’ve only ever been able to get hold of 1 lens which I put on my Valk. Turns out the naramon lens on my orthos P has generated 5x more Focus for me simply because I use the thing so much :x

ZenDadaist Sorenthaz Damonvile Enikuo Yup I’ve been doing Nitain Alerts every time I see them, lol.  Got the parts finished overnight and am now just waiting for the 72 hours to pass for Wukong.
Already finding Loki P pretty strong as-is without being fully modded, and energy management becomes effortless with my Focus passive giving me a stupid amount of energy regen after using the ability once.
NeZha you have to get out of Sorties, right? I got one part but just started doing sorties regularly (today might mark a week since I started it).  So far got all the parts for the Snipetron Vandal (but no blueprint for the thing yet…), a focus lens that I don’t need yet (Madurai I think it’s for?), the NeZha piece, and a bunch of fusion cores.  RNG’s been teasing my pretty heavily there.

Sorenthaz Damonvile Enikuo Stockpile that Nitain, Wukong takes a chunk of it to build >.< Wukong is a nice alternative to Valk sometimes, but it doesn’t really bring anything new to the table. Fun for solo stuff.

Loki P for Spy is godlike. Stack duration initially, then once potato’d and you’ve got all the good mods, balance with some range for Irradiating Disarm augment. Try not to laugh so hard you fall into some lasers :p (Not that I’ve ever done that. Nope, not me.)

But yeah all the frames have their niches. Some are a bit harder to get the best out of (Limbo, Hydroid) and require more team coordination but that’s half the fun. Sure, EV Trin and Blind Mirage or Banshee + Slowva can cheese most things but unless it’s a Sortie kicking your arses then it’s more fun to say “Oooh now I wonder how I could use ol’ Tentacular for this if so-and-so is on a Vauban and whatchamacallit is on a Zephyr.”

My current funframe is Nezha. It’s 80% of a Rhino and and Oberon and is the ground version of a Zephyr. And his sound effects come straight out of an 80s saturday morning cartoon :p

Damonvile Sorenthaz Enikuo Valkyr* :p And yes Valkyr is my favorite too.  She literally is unkillable nowadays if you put the right mods on her to give her near 100% Hysteria uptime, with the only real threat being nullifiers and energy leeches.  Nullifiers can be dealt with via carefully meleeing their nullify field and slowly advancing towards them until their field collapses and they’re vulnerable to getting shredded by Valkyr’s claws.   Energy leeches are just annoying but usually killable in a decent amount of time.
Loki was the first warframe I started with (because back in the beta days the three starter choices were Excalibur, Mag, and Loki) and I honestly hated him because I played him too recklessly and didn’t use his strengths very well to where once I hit 30 with him I dropped him for Valkyr.  But that was way back when I was a newbie and so I just finished building a Loki Prime earlier this evening.
Frost is useful for defense/mobile defense/excavation/interception missions imo, basically any mission that lets you stay stationary.  But he’s also a pretty good general purpose frame too from what I’ve seen, though Rhino is a possibly stronger alternative for general purpose tanking and CC.
My goal is to eventually try out all the frames and level them up (currently have a Frost, Volt, and Nyx all building and really looking forward to when my clan’s research for Wukong is finished so I can build my the warframe based off of my most favorite mythological character), but that’ll obviously take a long time.  Still it’s pretty cool how great of a variety there is with the frames, and how they keep coming up with clever ideas for each one.

Sorenthaz digi_owl Quite. As it’s a full yinstanced Lobby-based game, as opposed to an open shared world like a regular MMO, someone else having better gear has only a very minimal impact on your game, and that’s if you’re in Conclave or if you join a PUG group for something.

Damonvile Sorenthaz Enikuo Frost is actually my go to ‘general use’ frame. Good mix of defense and both offensive and defensive CC abilities, but still simple to play.

I’m surprised they didn’t include their 50 billion dead grineer stat! It’s not just Lancers :p

Waiting for Mag rework to land and hopefully unvaulting of Mag Prime to go with it. Current Mag is too specialised. She turns Corpus sorties into a complete joke (enhanced enemy shields you say? muahahaha), but very sorely lacks in the rest. Also hoping for a Vauban Prime soon. Currently doing my best to resist the urge to potato and forma my Vauban…

Sorenthaz Enikuo Ya, gutted I started too late to get a frost Prime myself :/ I really enjoy playing Frost, which came as a total surprise because normally that kind of defensive playstyle is boring as hell to me. But Frost is great fun – bubbles can be offense as well as defence (throw your 1 at a big stack, watch the area explode, also bubble the spawn points and go make a cup of tea). Avalanche laughs in the face of Armour (handy for the ridiculous scaling). Ice Wave down a corridor for the luls and he’s pretty hardy so he can get right in the thick of it without having to hide in the bubble with the caster frames.

Ah well. People keep talking about Starchart 3.0 leading to mass unvaulting so I’m living in hope of Frost Prime access without silly plat prices. Only reason I haven’t broken down and potato’d+Forma’d the basic one already…
