World of Tanks to become a Dark Horse comic

12

What happens when you combine a horse and a tank? A comic book! Wargaming has partnered with Dark Horse to produce a comic series based on the popular WWII-era shooter World of Tanks. Titled “World of Tanks: Roll Out!“, this five-part war tale will be penned by Garth Ennis (Preacher, War Stories, The Punisher) and illustrated by Carlos Ezquerra (Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, War Stories Vol. 2). Cover art will be created by  Isaac Hannaford (HALO: Reach, The Punisher).

Fans can follow the tank battles of summer 1944 in post D-Day Normandy, as the British push deeper into France toward the Germans. “World of Tanks: Roll Out!” will debut in comic book stores across the US and European territories in the fall of this year, with a new installment publishing each month. The series will also be available by digital distribution.

You had me at Garth Ennis! The Boys and Preacher are, by far, my favourite comics.

MJ Guthrie could be.  But it isn’t as if you need permission to write and draw a WW2 at any point in your career.  No one owns tank battles.  It isn’t an IP of anything.

WOT I don’t play as much as I used to. Lately I’ve just been logging on to play my British arties and make a few players cry tears of blood then I go back to playing BD.

Dnote Younger generations have a greater command of WW2 than any other war.  It is inescapable on some base level in the civilized world.

Good gravy I used to really enjoy Ennis’s work.  Does he not have much to do lately but write WW2 video game comics?  Ugh.
