Final Fantasy XI: May version update and Nexon’s mobile edition

It never ends.

Final Fantasy XI is doing a really terrible job of being in maintenance mode; the game’s last story update was in November and it’s already had two more updates. A third is on the way less than a month after the April update, at that. The May update will be here on May 10th, and it’s bringing along new Abuscade content, new rewards for said content, and another new challenge for players who have managed to earn mastery over a given job.

Not up for the higher-level challenges? Perhaps you could be by taking advantage of an upcoming NPC selling Superior equipment or the listed addition of Trusts to more content. You can also store excess crystals with an NPC to help deal with any burgeoning bag issues. Check out all of the listed items for the update, or just wait a couple of weeks to see all of the new features in action in a game with a maintenance mode more active than some games still in active development.

In other activity news, the first screenshots and information have surfaced about the awaited mobile version of the game from Nexon. Not much information is available at this point other than the fact that it’s going to be on both iOS and Android while using the Unreal 4 engine.

Many MMO companies should be embarrassed by FFXI’s “Maintenance Mode”

More Unreal Engine 4 love from square. I just hope that all the improvements and customization to the engine to do some good(optimized) android rendering get tossed back to epic so they can put it out as a version update.

I really wish they made this for PC. I would play a CoP FFXI with new graphics for sure, but I am not interested in mobile games at all. They probably make a lot more money this way, but as an XI fan I wish I could enjoy it too.

DanielMiller3 It’d have to outrun UO first.

PizzaDoh Rozyn  it be easy to catch up.  They added books, trust npcs and such.  I love how you can expand jp, cp points.  The jobs, REM weapons can be upgraded, and now a t4 weapon line.  I want to go back to make my REM 119s to 119×2

But so manynewer games on market, hard toinvest lots of time when ESO, Bless online out. FFXI is on my top five MMOS though

Since they are taking on new OS types, maintenance mode may be a loose thing.

BalsBigBrother You know with iPad Pro and some other Android devices having 12″ screens, its actually not so bad….
I wonder if they will support iOS  for AppleTV gaming or Android on a FireTV for gaming
