Final Fantasy XI: May version update and Nexon’s mobile edition

They're big, you see.

Final Fantasy XI is doing a really terrible job of being in maintenance mode; the game’s last story update was in November and it’s already had two more updates. A third is on the way less than a month after the April update, at that. The May update will be here on May 10th, and it’s bringing along new Abuscade content, new rewards for said content, and another new challenge for players who have managed to earn mastery over a given job.

Not up for the higher-level challenges? Perhaps you could be by taking advantage of an upcoming NPC selling Superior equipment or the listed addition of Trusts to more content. You can also store excess crystals with an NPC to help deal with any burgeoning bag issues. Check out all of the listed items for the update, or just wait a couple of weeks to see all of the new features in action in a game with a maintenance mode more active than some games still in active development.

In other activity news, the first screenshots and information have surfaced about the awaited mobile version of the game from Nexon. Not much information is available at this point other than the fact that it’s going to be on both iOS and Android while using the Unreal 4 engine.
