Star Citizen’s Around the Verse this week begins with a recap of what the studio is working on, including character animations, missions, planetary resources, scanning, combat AI, props, ship interiors, rest stops, hangars, and maybe the most interesting bit (if you’re suffering from sci-fi exhaustion): overland biomes for planets and moons – you know, like where you’re going to plop your home away from home.
The feature for this episode focuses on personal weapons, specifically the larger assault weapons. Pew pew, etc.
Incidentally, there are loads of leaks from 3.2 littering the Star Citizen subreddit right now, including patch notes, mining updates, and a list of ship balance changes en route. As the mods have noted, they do not work for CIG and will not be pulling down the posts, NDAs be damned, so have fun with that. It probably won’t matter much longer anyway as 3.2 is soon to hit the PTU, or so said the extended downtime notice last night.
Join us tomorrow at 10:30 AM PDT (17:30 UTC) for Reverse the Verse LIVE, where we talk about the ships of Alpha 3.2, only on https://t.co/1SDk1LZRyJ
Also, submit your questions to be asked during the broadcast at https://t.co/x4Bm1KsvUA
See you there!

I read the articles to keep up and get my emails from RSI, but honestly anymore I just don’t care. Show me a completed ready for prime time mmo and then I’ll be excited.
Damn how did we pass up such a huge opportunity earlier. we will be selling personal weapons next. Sweet! Crowdfunding shall continue!
no need, we’ve got whale packages for whales of all sizes.
A bit of a dull episode (they can’t all be winners) but alpha 3.2 being on track is cool.
they are going with a release on time no matter what needs to be cut to make it happen paradigm atm.
which tbh i feel has been a much needed shift for us playing backers as they throw us bones on much needed bug fixing and balance issues.
The feature creep appears to have subsided. No illusion that this is still a 10 year project (2012-2022) before we’ll get a fully functioning game. If you took the first 3 years of wasted development and decisions, we’d more than likely be in beta and very close to launch by now. Still, they are continuing to plug away at it. 3 years to go!
there’s a game there now. that somewhat approaches the original sales pitch even if missing alot of the economic and pvp systems from back in 2012/13.
and not like they’ve talked about those things in years nor made them a priority ahead of the feature creep items…
it’s a buggy broken game for most/many but there’s definitely an actual game there now :D
No, you fool! Don’t jinx it!
CIG will sense your satisfaction and add Procedural Terraforming, Giant Pilotable Mecha, and Dynamic Sword Fighting!
Quote: “If you took the first 3 years of wasted development and decisions”
Publishers despite making billions of dollars each year since +10 years with Operating Cash Flow of +1B$ per year… thousands of devs, all possible pipelines and uptodate tools…) keep throwing the same game with new skins. BF5 is a perfect example.
Now compare it to CIG which was 12 guys, 6 M$, no pipelines, no studios… The three first years was both active in development and mandatory to build the right structure, hire a talented team and create pipelines as well as heavily tweaking Cry Engine.
Also we are talking about two Triple-A: SQ42 (solo) and SC (MMO)
SQ42 will come first, SC will then switch to Beta. When? when ready and not another copy/paste of Publishers crap.
Ready for 2022? This game will have disappeared up its own arsehole long before 2022. I would give it until 2019.
Quote Kevin 15 days ago: “…with Chris Roberts and his wife enriched by about $100M – enough to retire as millionaires on your stupidity”
So now there is not even a totally broken reason like the one you shooted a couple weeks ago… just a prophecy.
Taken from the same location you mention in your very own today comment? Or because those 100M$ are going to be missed by 2020?
By patch 3.5 (Q1 2019) your next comments will reach a new level of entertainment for sure :)
so i did a criminal mission this week which set my crimstat to max so i went to SPK to reduce it and got killed and lost allllllll my guns so i decided to double down and go shopping
then i headed to spk to fuck some shit up and..
there was no one there and i got bored of waiting 5 minutes of tense watchign my back per crim stat tick (out of 5 ticks total apparently) so i left but the NPC pirate bounty hunters were still on my balls so i took him out like the vermin he is.
anyways, 3.2 is on ptu for evocati only right now. mining sounds somewhat better than expected but still ultimately mining lol
also fuck this particular piece of UX.
and the whole throwing your fucking gun away FOREVER when interacting with things when it’s out randomly. because fuck using your free hand for shit. ><
You have to pay extra whale money for that.
