One of the worst things that can happen to a pilot in Elite Dangerous is that you run out of fuel in the deep abyss of space. Fortunately, there’s a player organization out there with a mission to rescue all those wayward astronauts: That’d be the Fuel Rats, and this week, they saved their 50,000th traveler. Here’s the announcement on Reddit:
“Over the course of the past three years we have been proud to serve stranded pilots wherever they may be in the galaxy. With a success rate of 95.9%. If we can save you we probably will. At 17:42 Galactic time on Nov 4th 3304 in Sharru Sector LS-T B3-0 the Fuel Rats completed the 50,000th successful rescue. Fuel Rat Cmdrs involved were: Ravenov, Elchmoose; with Numerlor serving as Dispatch. Cmdr Ravenov, who delivered the first limpet of fuel, is a long time veteran of ours having rescued 226 stranded Cmdrs in our first year of operations. This most recent rescue was Ravenov’s 951st successful case. Ravenov’s other accomplishments include a rescue 13k LY from Sol, and traveling along with the original Distant Worlds Expedition out to Beagle Point.”
“Amazing work, Commanders,” Frontier’s Community Manager posted to Reddit. “Here’s to 100k and beyond!”
