Old School RuneScape mobile gets over a million downloads in first week of iOS release

It’s a proud day for RuneScape creator Jagex, as it has announced that its mobile title Old School RuneScape has seen huge success in the first week since its release on iOS, claiming the “number one position” in the iOS App Store “in eight countries in its first 24 hours.” “In addition to ranking #1 in the US, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, and key Nordic countries,” the official press release says, “the game featured as a top ten iOS title in a total of 15 countries.”

More than one million players have installed Old School RuneScape on iOS, adding to the “one million-plus members already playing on Android.” According to the press release, “The influx of players during launch week saw Old School RuneScape hit its highest ever daily average user (DAU) figure in its five-year history.” The studio also touts the game’s App Store reviews, of which 93% have awarded the game five stars, “providing an App Store average rating of 4.9 out of five in the US.”

Old School RuneScape is free to download and play on both iOS and Android.
