Lord of the Rings Online cultivates better lootboxes for impatient Elves

Ah, no.

We all know that if there’s an important bug in an MMO, developers will get around to fixing it… sooner or later. But if something’s wrong with the lootboxes? An alarm is sounded, all hands go on deck, and a top-priority patch is issued before players know what is happening.

And so it is with Lord of the Rings Online’s Update 23.1.6, which primarily adjusts some underperforming lockboxes and their contents. Players can now rejoice (?) that they can use lockboxes at lower levels and will enjoy better pre-50 gear stats in these chests. In addition to this silliness, the patch also advances the Bingo Boffin quest series on the progression servers and fixes a nasty bug that resulted in stat-free scaling gear that used to scale from nothing to nothing.

One very interesting note is that Standing Stone Games hinted that Beornings will transition to be a heavy armor class in a future patch. Plate mail bears, rawr!
