Black Desert’s new Archer and tree decorating events are live as Pearl Abyss sets up shop in California

Hope you got your proto Archer rolled in Black Desert because he’s live as of today and you can actually log him in and get to playing.

“The Archer uses his Crossbow for his stylish ranged attack and skill combos. In addition, the Archer has an assortment of magic skills at his disposal that assist him in combat by upsetting the opponents’ balance, and wreak havoc by unleashing a flurry of arrows with his Crossbow from afar. He is never flustered nor disoriented even in the thick of the battle. The Archer can easily escape without breaking a sweat even when he is outnumbered by countless foes. This brand new male class is set to receive a rich storyline in which its background will be fully explored when he gets added to the current roster of available characters.”

Naturally Kakao has a whole schedule of events to celebrate the new class launch; you’re gonna be running around collecting archer’s seals, taking part in the Archer duoing experience buff event, and enjoying the Archer level-up race and expies boost. Starting today, the winter theme is applied to the game’s UI and background, and players will be tasked with decorating Ancient Cron Trees too.

In more businessy news, BDO developer Pearl Abyss – which just bought CCP Games, you’ll recall – announced today it’s setting up its first North American office: in Manhattan Beach, California. “The Manhattan Beach office will serve as an important regional office for Pearl Abyss’ continuing growth and success, and our self-publishing efforts in the western market,” PA Senior VP Jeonghee Jin says.

“Pearl Abyss’ mission is to create the best MMOs in the world. With their titles, the company wants to give their players an out-of-this-world experience like no other. This new location in Manhattan Beach will help progress the mission for Pearl Abyss for years to come.”
