Nexon is fairly well known for being one of the most prolific developers of MMOs in the industry, and today the studio announced that its dominion is expanding even further with the upcoming western release of a new mobile MMORPG, AxE: Alliance vs Empire. As the title would suggest, the game focuses on the story of “an epic war” between two factions, the Galenos Alliance and the Darkhaan Empire. Nexon touts the game as “a next generation, fully-featured MMORPG on mobile devices with a sprawling and ever-changing open-world” featuring “console-quality HD graphics.”

As is the custom for any game centered around a war between two opposing factions, AxE promises plenty of PvP action, including massive 150-player battlefields and “tactical four vs four player matches.” But the game promises plenty of action for less gladiatorial players, too: Dungeons and raids will test players’ cooperation, which will be bolstered by an array of social features including in-game voice chat. AxE will launch on iOS and Android devices “soon this year,” whenever that is, exactly. While you wait, however, you can check out the game’s first official trailer just below.
