Furbish up your Arc clients, folks: Torchlight Frontiers’ alpha is gearing up for a big patch tomorrow, the star of which is surely the newly announced Railmaster class. You’ll be “swinging a big hammer and laying tracks” while cleaning up in melee and wrecking mobs with your trains and summoning ghost cars and we’re here for this.
PWE and Echtra Games have noted they’re boosting character slots in the alpha, so you won’t have to delete your darlings to make a choo-choo class. The patch will add new monsters, buff foci, and fix a bunch of outstanding bugs. Finally, the studios say they think they’ve finally fixed the alpha’s worst overspawn problems.
“It’s been a mutating and multi-limbed beast to tackle, but we’ve made some serious headway in taming the out-of-control spawning that was taking place in areas like Gobtown. You should no longer encounter wave upon wave of champions. There’s still tuning for spawn rates to be done, but the worst of it is over.”
